Posted:

At least 45 per cent shooting of the film John Appa Rao 40 Plus is complete. The film is directed and produced by Kuchipudi Venkat under the banner of Black and Eight Act. Krishna Bhagawan and Simran play the lead roles. Director cum producer Venkat says, Our hero John Appa Raos marriage gets delayed due to some family responsibilities. After completing all his responsibilities, he wants to marry. At age 40, can he get a girl to marry or not? What kind of problems he faces when he thinks of getting married? Answers to all these questions form part of the story. The producer further says, Earlier, I directed Modati Cinema, but it did not fulfil my expectations. But I earned a good name for directing a good comedy track. So this time, I chose to bring out a complete entertainer. Already we have shot one song in Bangkok, plus some key scenes in Vizag and Hyderabad. We will complete the shooting of the talkie in the next schedule planned from October 2nd to 22nd. The remaining two songs would be choreographed in Australia and New Zealand. Hero Krishna Bhagawan says, When Venkat told me that I would be the hero, I was shocked. I was apprehensive as I had never played the hero, not even on stage. I asked Venkat why he was offering me the heros role as I am happy with my comedy roles. Then he narrated the story and I really felt that the subject would suit my body language and age. And I have known him for some time now.  So Venkat prepared the story, keeping me in mind. Besides comedy, the film has sentiment and suspense. Simran is playing the role of a business woman from US, while I play the role of a costume designer. Ali, Brahmanandam, Jeeva, Raghubabu, Benarjee, Kondavalasa, Sayaji Shinde, Melkote, Satyam Rajesh, Maruthi, Gauthamraju, Prabhakar, Apoorva, Pavala Shyamala, Ruthika, Aruna, Pruthviraj, Sudarshan and Appaji and others are in the cast. Directed and produced by Sekhar Kammula under the banner of Amigos Creations Pvt. Ltd., Happy Days is all set to hit the screens on October 2nd. Speaking to the media, Sekhar Kammula says, We are just like the students who await results after writing exams. We are waiting for good times to release our film Happy Days and we thought October 2nd is good. However, we already booked theatres in the US. Hence we are releasing the film on September 28th there. For the first time, a Telugu film is being released in the US earlier than its actual release in Andhra Pradesh. Dil Raju says, Whatever Sekhar Kammula does is something special. I have complete confidence on him and with the same confidence he had decided to release the film three days earlier abroad. I too agreed for the same as I also had confidence in the film. In fact, I used to distribute all the films produced under our banner across the State; for other films, I used to restrict myself to Nizam area. For the first time, we have agreed to distribute Happy Days across the state. It is a movie which you can enjoy. Like a person who works hard for six days and enjoys the holiday on the seventh day, this film would be quite entertaining. The film could be watched by the entire family. Music is by Mickey J. Meyer, lyrics are by Veturi, Vanamali and Venkatesh Patwari, and camera is by Vijay C. Kumar.

Kamalakar to score music for Vaana

Posted:

Noted producer M.S. Raju is wielding the megaphone for the first time for Vaana with music from Kamalakar, who scored music for several successful films like Prana and Yevadigola Vadidi. It may be mentioned here that Devi Sri Prasad used to provide tunes for all films produced by M.S. Raju. There are several musical hits like Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana and Varsham among them. It was M.S. Raju who introduced Devi Sri Prasad through Devi. However, their combination had a break with Vaana. It is learnt that already three songs have been recorded under Kamalakars musical direction. Vaana is the remake of a successful Kannada film Mungaru Male. Presently the film is being shot at Sakaleshpur near Mangalore in Karnataka.
